Minnesota Department of Health / State of Minnesota

The Minnesota Department of Health.  Come work for one of the best public health systems in the nation and you will contribute to our mission to protect, maintain and improve the health of all Minnesotans. We are working hard to achieve our vision for health equity in Minnesota, where all communities are thriving, and all people have what they need to be healthy. Our collaborative, mission-driven work environment is a major factor in promoting a high level of employee health awareness, employee longevity and job satisfaction.

Join our Facilities Management team as a Facilities Programs Administrator and help keep Minnesota Department of Health buildings safe, running smoothly, and following all the rules. This is a great chance to lead projects like repairs and upgrades, improve building systems, and make daily operations better — all of which directly help public health. If you’re good at managing projects, working with different teams, and making facilities work better, this could be the right job for you.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate maintenance, repairs, and building upgrades to make sure they’re done on time, within budget, and meet goals.
  • Keep an eye on building systems like HVAC, plumbing, and electrical to make sure they’re working well and prevent problems before they happen.
  • Look at how space is used and how work gets done, then suggest ways to make better use of space and improve efficiency.
  • Make sure all facilities meet safety codes and regulations by doing regular checks and working with inspectors.
  • Prepare reports and updates to share progress, issues, and results with the team and other stakeholders.
