The Facilities Projects Manager position plans, coordinates, tracks, closes out, and manages all assigned projects and manages the work of the University of Maryland on-call contractors and outside contractors. Projects managed would include emergency projects - flood/fire/mold/asbestos abatement/natural disasters, life safety, small-scale renovations, concrete, masonry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting, carpentry, steel/iron works, roofing, and tree trimming. The incumbent is responsible for communicating with customers and internal users regarding preferred construction methods, materials, and timelines. The incumbent will develop solutions for and complete projects without completed design specifications or drawings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Three (3) years of facilities, operations, construction, renovation, or maintenance experience.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

The Department of Residential Facilities is responsible for the maintenance and housekeeping services for the College Park Campus' 70+ residence halls, Greek chapter houses, and recreational facilities encompassing over 2.7 million square feet. The department employs over 300 exempt, non-exempt and student staff.
